Serial Control

Some devices, that you may wish to control, can be controlled via a direct serial port connection. Also, any custom devices that we may develop and build for you would most likely be controlled via a direct serial port connection.

Angel FX provides one RS-232 & one RS-485 serial communication port on the rear of the main unit for general purpose use. Serial command strings can be sent individually, by "clicking" on a single ICON or text menu line, or any number of them (up to 32) can be programmed into a "sequence" which allows up to 32 events to be executed in response to a single input from the user. Angel FX can store up to 1,000 sequences of up to 32 events each.

Each I/O Pod also provides two RS-232 & two RS-485 serial communication ports for general purpose use. Up to 10 I/O Pods can be connected to the system at the same time to provide a maximum of 20 additional RS-232 ports. In addition to these capabilities, there are two other optional plug in cards that also provide additional serial ports. Our optional PCNET plug in card provides two additional RS-485 bus ports for general purpose use, and our optional COM-4 plug-in card provides two RS-232 & two RS-485 ports for general purpose use.
